Clean and quiet retreat
Our stay at Matakana Motel felt like a hidden gem, with impressively clean, spacious rooms and a relaxing vibe. The outdoor pool area was a delightful surprise, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.
Our enjoyment was slightly dampened by a few tiny nuisances. the kitchen sink was quite high, which might pose a challenge for shorter guests.

clean room, convenient kitchenette, lovely compact bathroom
The lack of storage in the room made it frustrating to keep our things organized!!! The property feels shoe-horned into the area, with unappealing views of backyards and parking lots. Tight parking can be a headache for larger vehicles!!!

The location made it convenient to explore local amenities, and the spacious unit was modern and well-maintained. Enjoyed sitting outside on the individual verandah. however, the noise from neighboring units disrupted the tranquility. there was little storage space for personal items, which made organizing a challenge during the stay.

Had a blast with friends! The spacious units are perfect for groups. You’re right near cafes and the cinema. We enjoyed a relaxing time at the golf course too. The hosts really went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend for a fun getaway!
The parking situation was a bit tricky for our larger vehicle, so it’s good to plan ahead for that.

I loved the spacious room and the amazing shower was a treat after the pool, but the thin walls made for a noisy night. Would definitely stay here again!
